
Total dominance by the Canary Island teams across all three girls’ categories at the Costa Brava Girona Basket. Gran Canaria claimed victory in both the cadet and U14 (infantil) divisions, while Colegio Nuryana from Tenerife took the title in the mini category.
Gran Canaria’s cadet team won the final against Cornellà B (88-33). Third place went to Time Travel, who defeated Femení Osona (48-35).
In the U14 category, Gran Canaria confirmed its dominance with a clear win over Vedruna (98-33). Femení Osona and Time Travel also met in the third-place game, this time with victory going to the Osona side (41-29).
In the mini category, Colegio Nuryana from Tenerife showed overwhelming superiority, winning all their matches. The remaining podium spots went to two teams from Girona: Bàsquet Girona Uni Laia Palau finished second, and Fontajau took third place.
Boys’ turn begins
On Thursday, the boys’ competitions begin, also featuring cadet, U14, and mini categories, spread across seven different venues. Vilablareix will host the mini teams; Salt and Sant Gregori will see the U14 teams in action; and the cadets will play at facilities in Quart, Fontajau, Montfalgars, and Palau Sacosta.
The regular phase of the tournament will take place today and Friday morning, followed by the knockout rounds in the afternoon and the finals on Saturday morning.
