The first day of the Costa Brava Girona Basket 2019 has been really intense. Throughout all day, more than 70 teams have played nearly one hundred games in several courts spread out in the province of Girona.
Celeritas-Donar, Ratiopharm Ulm, Zalgiris Kaunas and Valladolid have not lost any of their two matches and they are the main contenders to obtain a spot in the U16 male semi-finals, which will take place tomorrow at the afternoon.
PSSA from Dubai, Minguella, CEB Girona and, again, Ulm have done their homework and are in a good position to qualify for the next round. The Arabian academy has also dominated the U12 male group, just as Sa Real A, Bisbal Bàsquet and CB 7 Palmas, who also have overplayed their rivals.
Regarding the women groups, the U16 girls from Palamós, Tabirako, Sa Real and San Ignacio got a great strike with two out of two wins, while GEiEG-Uni, Sparta Praga and Sant Josep Obrer have shone in the U14 group. CB Olot leads the U12 competition which has a single group format.
