Men’s tournament shows talent as it begins on the fourth day of the CBGB

Women’s categories of the CBGB have already given way to Men’s, and the energy of the more than 600 players who have arrived in Girona has been there from the very first hour in the morning. Some of them, in fact, used yesterday’s evening to visit the city, but today it was time to get to the courts. They were really willing to play, and that was clear on a day in which half a hundred games were held. Half of them were U16M, and many duels had moments of maximum tension leading to numerous extra-times. TenneT Young Heroes have won their two matches like that and are one of the classified teams for the quarter-finals, which will be played tomorrow morning in the courts of Sarrià, Montfalgars, Palau and Sant Gregori, as always. El Pilar Valencia keeps his options open for the title too, as they have taken advantage of the repechage system even though they lost 69-66 in a tight game against Tornados Franken. The other teams and their rivals in the quarter-finals can be checked on the Live! tab on our web, as of the 24 teams that faced-off in today’s first round, there are now only eight competing to win the Costa Brava Girona Basket. In the U12 (the youngest of the tournament) and U14 categories, the first two games of the group stage have been played, and tomorrow morning it will be closed before the semifinals. In the courts of Vilablareix, Salt and Quart the atmosphere and energy of the players could be felt once again, showing what’s the spirit of the CBGB.
