There are exactly three months left for the seventh edition of the Costa Brava Girona Basket tournament, which this year will take place on April 9, 10 and 11 in nine courts around the province of Girona, spread out in the towns of Girona, Salt, Sant Gregori, Quart, Vilablareix and Platja d’Aro. More than 1,200 players will take part in the competition, that will be divided in six categories: u16, u14 and u12, male and female.
Up until now, several European, Spanish and Catalan clubs have already confirmed their assistance. This year, we will receive for the first time Wales’ national basketball team, which will compete in the u16 boys’ group. We will also count with Dutch representation: two teams from New Heroes den Bosch and five more from Apollo Amsterdam.
We will welcome back old friends from our peninsula, such as Valladolid, that once again will bring male teams from all ages, or San Ignacio from Pamplona, that will take part in all six categories. Six teams from Sant Lluís de Menorca and two from CB Boscos Ciutadella will disembark from the Balearic Islands. Seven teams from Gran Canaria will fly from the Canary Islands, whereas 7 Palmas will have a team in every male group. There are some Catalan teams could not miss the event either such as the u16 boys from SESE and the u14 girls from Banyoles.
