International finals for the CBGB24

Time Travel and Barpa Sports from Chile will compete for the U16 women’s title, and Granollers and JET Terrasa for the U14

Time Travel and Barpa Sports from Chile, in U16, and Granollers and JET Terrassa, in U14. These are the teams that will play the finals of the Costa Brava Girona Basket in the women’s category this morning. It will be at the Palau Sacosta and Montfalgars pavilions, respectively, which have been the venues of the tournament since Monday.

Therefore, the CBGB will continue to have international duels on the last day of the women’s edition. The U16 final will be a clash between the two teams that have proven to be stronger during the competition. Neither Basket Chile Barpa Sports nor Time Travel – both teams uniting players from different clubs– have lost a single match during the tournament, and are aiming for a high-voltage duel. The Catalans eliminated Premià de Dalt in the semi-finals, and the Chileans did it with their expedition partners, a second team from the Barpa Sports combine, also at a high level. In this way, Catalunya and Chile will see each other both in the final and in the duel for third and fourth place. This, at 11am, will serve as an aperitif at the final.

As for the U14’s, Montfalgars will experience a Catalan final between Granollers and JET Terrassa at 12:00. Both have dominated their groups with plenty of victories and eliminated Post SV from Nuremberg and Bàsquet Girona Uni Laia Palau signing two solid games in the semi-finals.

At the end of the women’s tournament, fifth and sixth place in the cadet category will go to Grup Barna or Campdevànol, and seventh and eighth place will be shared by Fontajau and Draft Gramenet. In the children’s category, SESE and Basket Chile Barpa Sports will face each other for fifth and sixth place, and Draft Gramenet and Campdevànol for seventh and eighth.

The men’s teams arrive
It is not, however, the last day of the tournament, as today the bulk of the men’s teams that will compete in the men’s tournament between Thursday and Saturday will arrive in Girona. In fact, some of the participating clubs have already arrived, such as the Rasta Vechta cadet, who played a friendly with Bàsquet Girona in Vila-roja yesterday.

After the more than 40,000 views achieved on Monday between Instagram, above all, and TikTok, the Costa Brava Girona Basket remained a viral tournament adding tens of thousands of interactions on networks. The new app, Swish, continued to show just how much it has modernized the tournament with comprehensive live match tracking and full stats availability.
